Ristorante Il Doge

This is my second visit to Il Doge and the restaurant has confirmed its very good rating, with excellent, traditional food, an amazing setting and a good level of service. This time the restaurant was packed with people, so the result was a bit of noise due to the proximity of tables and the small dining room, which however is so beautiful that is compensate the unavoidable noise.

Nested in an ancient crypt that offers a fantastic location, Il Doge is a small, very good restaurant with an excellent menu that, without offering an extremely wide choice, covers all the necessary spectrum of food's tastes. The Piatto Unico is a great choice, particularly ideal for a quick yet fulfilling lunch. The cuisine is tasty, the dishes are generous and the service prompt and friendly.Definitely recommended.

Wonderful restaurant offering beautifully plated local dishes. The service was friendly and attentive (our waiter spoke at least Italian, German, and English). The atmosphere is very nice too. We tried the meat & cheese board app, bacon dumpling, tagliatelle w/ deer ragu, beef stew w/ fried polenta main dish combo, the basil & tomato tagliatelle w/ shrimp, and the house red wine. The fresh bread was also delicious. Payment by cash or credit card. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our meal on 21 June and I would also like to add some special thanks. There was a huge thunderstorm as we were leaving. And a very kind woman who worked there gave us a lift to our hotel (Casa del Pittore). We would like to thank her very much for her kindness.
